All Hallows Eve (Halloween) is often considered to be the time of year when the veil is lifted and spirits from the other world can visit ours. I designed Lifted Veil to be a representation of this, with ghosts mirrored in light and dark areas that meet in the middle. A repeating pattern, this is fun for knitters of all skill levels.

Notions needed:
24” circular needles (or longer for Magic Loop)
Stitch marker
Scissors
Tapestry needle

Gauge & suggested needles:
20 stitches & 24 rounds in a 4in/(19.5s X 23r 10cm) swatch knit in the round and blocked, following rounds 15 through 44 of the pattern.
Knit using US 8/5.0mm needles
Adjust needle size to acquire the right gauge

Finished measurements:
Approximately 14 X 9.5 in (35.5 X 24 cm) measured flat when blocked.

Suggested yarn:
Color A/C: 120yds (110m) of worsted yarn.
Color B: 100yds (92m) of worsted yarn.
Color D: 22yds (20m) of worsted yarn.
These amounts should be enough for a swatch and the project.

The sample cowl was knit using Blue Sky Fibers yarns:
Woolstok - 100% Fine Highland Wool. 123yd(112m)/50gm. In colors: Driftwood and Dark Chocolate (Colors A/C); Rusted Roof (Color B). 1 skein of each.
Woolstok Mini Skein - 100% Fine Highland Wool. 12yd(10m). Color - Spun Gold (Color D). 2 skeins.
