The light as a Feather Sweater is knitted top down in a silk mohair to give a light garment that still is warm. The sweater knitted up in mohair weights 75-100gr. that make it perfect to bring as an extra layer or for traveling since it easily can compact down in a pocket. The loose neck makes this sweater light to wear and a great layer for people experiencing fiber sensitivity.
Because the sweater is knitted top down it is easy to costumize to your particular liking by making it longer or more cropped. Because the fabric of the sweater is very light I can knit the entire sweater on short circular needles (40cm) and enjoy the stitches flow easily on the needles but it can also be knitted on longer circular needles and the sleeves on double pointed needles. For size 1-4 with 3/4 sleeves you can get a way with 75gr. of a Silk mohair. For longer sleeve or a size 5-8 you will need 100gr. but it will still be a very light sweater. With a striped look it is a great way to use up leftover mohair from the stash.
