Light it Up Mitts
Please enjoy 40% off all of my patterns and e-books until 21 June 2023, no coupon code required!
These funky fingerless mitts have a fun geometric colorwork pattern. They can be knit in 2 colours, or 6 if so desired. There is i-cord on all edges, which makes it look super tidy and cohesive, and the gusset is a striking design element that will surely delight you!
Size: One (Small-Medium Women’s)
Length – 7.5”/19 cm
Width- 6.5”/17cm circumference
Materials:
Yarn: (shown) MC- Poppy Yarn and Fibre Highwood Sock in Neon Macarons (420 yards/115 grams); CC- Poppy Yarn and Fibre Fraser Sock Minis (460 yards/ 100 grams) 5 mini set in Super Soft Birthday Party.
Any fingering weight yarn can be substituted. Please have at least 50 grams of each color (5x 10 gram minis for CCs if doing the 6 colour version). If a larger mitt is desired, consider using sport weight instead of fingering though you will use more yardage.
If doing 2 colours, please ignore all the numbers after the CC. Use your CC for all CCs in the pattern.
Needles: 2.75mm- 3mm needles of your choice - DPNs, Long circular (for magic loop), or 9” circulars. Needle size can be altered to change the final size of the mitts. For smaller mitts, go down in needle size, and for larger mitts go up in needle size.
Notions: Tapestry needle for weaving in ends; Stitch holder or scrap yarn to hold stitches.
Gauge: 9 stitches/inch, 10 rows/inch in stockinette
Type of Instructions: Written and Charted
