“Lighthouse Bat” is a simple striped shirt with 3/4 length bat-like sleeves. It is worked bottom-up, first in the round, then back and forth for the sleeve openings and then again in the round. The stripes (which remind me of a lighthouse, thus the name) underline the unusual drop shoulder construction which is shaped by a higher decrease rate than usual.

In case you prefer working top-down: The pattern also includes a separate PDF with instructions for working the same sweater in the opposite direction!
(shown in 2nd sample with thin stripes)

Yarn & gauge
Gauge is 26 sts x 38 rows with main needle 3,0-3,25mm in Stockinette
(or use instructions for alternative gauge 24 sts x 35 rows, if you knit more loosely or use thicker yarn).

Approx. 1300-1700m of a Light Fingering weight needed, divided nearly evenly between colors C1 and C2 (with approx. 50m more of C1 because of folded hem and sleeves cuffs), plus a little bit (<20m) of C3 for the neck edge.

Use a yarn with a bit of silk or linen content so that the sweater drapes well. The sample wwas worked using Skudderia Tibetan Yak (366m/ 100g, 60% Merino Wool, 20% Yak, 20% Silk).
(The top-down sample was worked in Walk Collection Linea, with 3 sock yarn minis for the thin stripes.)

Sizes: S/ M/ L/ XL/ XXL with hip circumference 92/ 102/ 110/ 120/ 130cm (36/ 40/ 43/ 47/ 51 inches).
(Pick your sized based on the width you need at your hip.
In case of strong hips compared to the upper body, start with one size bigger and switch to the smaller size in step 3, by picking up less stitches per side and increasing less often.)
