“Lighthouse is a C2C crocheted throw blanket inspired by a painting seen in HBO Max’s piratical rom-com Our Flag Means Death. The lighthouse is a symbol of a guiding light, but also a warning against self-destruction.

This pattern includes a chart and written instructions. The irregular dimensions make it great for throwing across a sofa or the end of a bed.

Edit June 2024: While I am still hopeful that the show can make a miraculous return, for now it appears that a season 3 is not happening. The Save OFMD campaign has been doing some fundraising for various charities, primarily LGBTQ+ focused, so the 50% of profits will be going to those charities they’re highlighting

Edit December 2023: As the strike is now over (hooray!), I am no longer donating to the strike efforts. For the time-being, I am now donating 50% of profits from this pattern towards renewal efforts for OFMD. Renew as a crew!

As of August 2023, Our Flag Means Death is a struck work. I’m a huge fan of the show and eagerly await season 2 (and 3, pending renewal) and I emphatically support the WGA and SAG-AFTRA in their strike efforts. Shows like this wouldn’t exist without the passionate artists that put their all into them, often without seeing fair compensation for it. Until the strike ends, I will be donating 50% of profits from this pattern to the Our Flag Means Strike fund, which provides resources to picketing cast and crew.
