It is summer in the air - freedom, vacation, sea… :-) And our little girl needs this summet hat for our family holiday vacation.

This pattern includes step by step instruction and very detailed photo- tutorial. Instruction are written in English language, American terminology. The pattern is ready to download immediatelly after the payment.

Reccommended material:
Yarn weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi) 100% cotton
e.g. Catania Solids by Schachenmayr SMC, Yardage: 136 yards (124 meters)
Unit weight: 50 grams (1.76 ounces), Gauge: 26.0 sts = 4 inches

Hook: 3 mm
You will need these colors: 106 white, 115 red, 256 raspberry, 397 light turquoise, 146 turquoise, 124 navy blue, 261 regatta blue. The total amount of yarn will depend on the size of your hat. For hat with perimeter of the head 52 cm (20.5 inches) I used 95 grams of yarn totally.

Other material: some blue spangles, one button average 1.5 cm, one golden Toho bead size 6/0, one blue navy bead size 6/0, two buttons average 7mm, needle with blunt tip, common sewing needle and thread, about 80 cm of red ribbon size 6/8.

The detailed instruction are written for 4 SIZES of the hat:
size 2/3 years, perimeter of the head 50 cm (19,7 inches)
size 4 years, perimeter of the head 51 cm (20 inches)
size 5 year, perimeter of the head 52 cm (20,5 inches)
size 6/7 years, perimeter of the head 53 cm (20,7 inches)

Note: The size of finished hat depends on used material and your own style of crocheting. Please remember that, if you will use another material, the final size could be different. Also the gauge is very important by crocheting of the hat, so please take the attention to the gauge and make the sample.

Level of the pattern: intermediate
You should know how to crochet these stitches:
Chain (CH) , Slip stitch (SlSt) , Single crochet (SC) , Double crochet (DC) , Increasing (inc): 2 SC od DC in same stitch , Decreasing (dec): crochet 2 SC together, Front post single crochet - it is explained in the pattern.
