This pattern was inspired by the 2nd edition of the Knit 3 Words Challenge 2021.

You might be wondering, what is the Knit 3 words Challenge…

It’s a design challenge organized by Beagle Knits and Merino Feroz for creative people from the fiber community all around the world. The idea is to create community and share in the creative process. Participants can design any piece using any technique inspired by the 3 words that are chosen at the beginning of the year.

This year’s 3 words have been chosen from the categories: Mythology, Meteorology, and Ways to dye yarn. The challenge began on February 28th, 2021 with the drawing of the words.
The chosen words are:
Mythology: Faun
Meteorology: Lightning
Way to dye yarn: Solid

Since then we’ve had time to imagine, knit, frog, & repeat. Friday, the 3rd of September 2021 all of the patterns will be published.

This challenge was dreamt up with the idea to create more community amongst podcasters from the fiber community. During the month of September and October 2021, we will be doing interviews with each other to talk about this experience and you will have this content available online.

From the 3rd of September until the 1st weekend of November there will be a Multi-KAL for anyone who is knitting a project from this year’s challenge.
