From Nancy Bush's Pattern Introduction "These gloves are named for Liidia… who taught me the special braid cast-on used here and which I also named for her. When I met her, Liidia was sitting in front of her farmhouse door, knitting in the warm sun on a summer afternoon. Our meeting was by chance and is a truly delightful memory for me.

These gloves are fashioned on typical gloves from the island of Kihnu. The cuffs are worked with Kihnu vits braids, a rib pattern, and simple two-colored motif. The hand is worked in a star motif and the fingers and thumb are worked in a smaller, simpler motif
