Like a Hug is a shawl that is knitted side to side, starting with only a few stitches. Increases are made at one side to grow the shawl to a certain depth over a number of rows and then decreases are worked over a number of rows to taper down the other half of the shawl. Lace sections are designed to keep the project interesting but there is enough garter stitch to allow for social and tv knitting!!

In considering yarn, long color-changing yarn for the garter sections combined with a solid colorway for the lace sections is recommended. The sample is knitted of 3 skeins Spincycle Independence and 3 skeins of Plymouth Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride.
