The inspiration for this design comes from the mysterious and often overlooked beauty of lichen, which has been in existence for over eight thousand years providing a foundation for soil to grow and is an important component in supporting a healthy ecosystem.

What appears to be a fragile symbiosis, is really a silent warning system. Lichen acts as a ’canary in a coal mine’ and warns of ecological threat by rapidly disappearing from polluted areas.
