Li'l Surfer Board
Please note: this pattern is for the surfboard only, not the doll. The Li’l Surfer Dude in the pic is made from the “Purl the Little Knit Girl” pattern book, full of adorable patterns by CiD Hanscom. I followed the instructions for the knit girl, but when I attached the hair, the doll looked to me like a Li’l Surfer Dude. He had to have a surfboard! Hence this pattern.
This is an easy intermediate pattern: a little increasing and decreasing, sewing and such. I used small amounts of DK weight yarn and #4 needles, but you can use any weight yarn and appropriate needles. My finished board measures about 6” by 1.75”.
I decorated mine with duplicate stitch, but you could use any method you like.
You will also need some thin cardboard or plastic for the innards of the board, so it will not flop over when posing beside your surfer dude or dudette on the beach!
