Lilacs and Hummingbirds
Lilacs and Hummingbirds
Spring is absolutely my favorite time of year! When I began this piece, my white lilacs were just starting to pop open and we were anticipating the arrival of the hummingbirds. Happily, they have arrived, along with Orioles, Red-breasted Grosbeaks, Robins and so many other spring and summer birds! The lilacs were in glorious bloom, as were the bleeding hearts.
As we head into Memorial Day weekend, I wanted to share with you this quick knit pattern for a wrap/shawl/scarf. It knits up so fast on size 17s.
This is a simple knit and should only take a couple of evenings. It’s an asymmetrical triangle and measures 57” x 60” x 24”. Gauge is 2sts./in.
I used size 17 needles in a 40” length, just because I had them handy and wanted to spread out the work as I knit.
Happy Spring! Happy Memorial Day! Enjoy!
