This is an easy pattern, suitable for an advanced beginner, especially if the last border round was changed to SC.
The stitch pattern can be easily adapted to make blankets in other sizes, and can also be used to make a scarf or a rectangular shawl.
Gauge is unimportant.
I used a Caron Pounder, and had about 5 yards left.
