Lilas socks are toe-up socks featuring cross-stitch and herringbone stitch. Cross-Stitch is made without the cable needle and worked on the top side of the socks. Short rows are worked for the sole to adjust the difference in row gauge between the instep and sole. After gusset and heel turn, Herringbone Stitch is worked for the heel flap. Directions are written for the Magic Loop method. Cross-Stitch Pattern is both charted and written. Video tutorial links are included.

The pattern includes options of;
Leg length: ankle, crew
Type of cuff: hem for ankle length, 2×2 ribbing for crew length

YARN
Fingering weight yarn
45-60 g for ankle socks, 60-80 g for crew socks
Note: The amount of yarn used will vary depending on the leg and foot length.

• Ankle socks ver. (Yarn) Chappy Yarn Cotton Merino (400 m / 437 yds per 100 g, 50% Cotton, 50% Merino), shown in Ephesus
• Crew socks ver. (Yarn) Eden Cottage Yarns Oakworth 4ply (400 m / 437 yds per 100 g, 100% Polwarth), shown in Hosta

GAUGE
32 sts & 44 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette st, Size A needle
36 sts = 10 cm / 4” in Stitch Pattern (unstretched), Size A needle
40 sts & 40 rows = 10 cm / 4” in herringbone st, Size B needle

NEEDLE
Size A: US 0 / 2.0 mm for main needle
Size B: US 1 / 2.25 mm for heel, one size larger than Size A
Size C (optional): US 00 / 1.75 mm for hem of ankle socks, one size smaller than Size A
Adjust needle size to obtain gauge. Sample used 80 cm / 32” circular needle.

Lilasは変わり交差とヘリンボーンステッチを使った、つま先から編む靴下です。変わり交差は、なわ編み針を使わないユニークな手順で編みます。靴下の前面は変わり交差のパネルを編み、底は模様とメリヤスのゲージの差を引き返し編みで調整しながら作ります。かかとはまちと引き返し編みを編んだあと、ヒールフラップにはヘリンボーンステッチの模様を入れます。
編み方は輪針のマジックループ式に合わせて説明されています。変わり交差はチャート(編み図)と文章パターンを併記。動画解説リンク付き。
