The Lille Rose Mittens got their inspiration from my newest design, “Lille Rose” - a circular yoke, top-down sweater. You can buy this design, as well as my other circular yoke sweaters “Berry sweater” and “Sea and Rocks” at special prices for a limited time.

These super-cute mittens are perfect for playing around with colors! I can see SO many lovely color-combinations here - and I do look forward to see the mittens worked up in your favorite combo!
Chilly autumn days will be much cozier using them, too!

Construction
The mittens are worked bottom up and in the round. They are started from a ribbed cuff, followed by the stranded pattern. After the rose-pattern there is a thumb gap (placement differs for left and right thumb).
The mittens are seamless. You might add or subtract pattern repeats to your liking.

Materials
Yarn: I used Rowans “Felted Tweed” (as I had lots of left-overs from the Berry Sweater). This yarn is of DK weight and comes in beautiful, heathered colors that blends together in a lovely way.
You will only need small amounts of each color. The total weight of the mittens are approximately 25gr/0.88oz
MC: Cinnamon. CC: Aubergine/Plum/Crimson/Dust pink
Needles: I strongly recommend that you work using 4 dpn’s, allowing you to keep 1 pattern-repeat at each needle. I used size 2.5mm/US1.5 - this is a recommendation only. Choose needle size to obtain gauge!
Notions: stitchmarkers, small holders for the thumb-gap.

Gauge28 sts in stranded stockinette = 10cm/4”

Size The mittens are one size. If you work to exact gauge the circumference (over palm and back of hand) will be 17cm/6.75”. If you work to less sts to 10cm/4” the mittens will be wider. If you have more sts to 10cm/4” the mittens will be smaller.

The pattern
The pattern is charted. There are written explanations for the cuff, the increase/decrease rounds, the thumb gap, the finishing.

Knitting skills
This is a perfect pattern if you have not worked stranded knitting before! There are only 2 strands of yarn worked at a time. You need to be able to work simple increases (m1 = k1fb) and decreases (ssk) as well as working in the round.
