The Lilly shawl design is a gift to my dear Mum. Named after her, Lilly is humble and simple, yet powerful, courageous and with character.

Lilly is a beautiful crescent shaped shawl starting with a handful of stitches and increasing to an impressive wingspan of 2 meters. It uses four colors, and the main body of the shawl is made up of a simple drop stitch pattern giving its subtle wavy structure, intersected by stripy wedges giving the shawl a slight asymmetrical shape. Lilly finished with an easy to make rippled lace edge and an i-cord bind-off.

If you like garter stitches, drop a stitch once in a while and can count to 8, Lilly is a project for you. Lilly is a simple yet feminine and impactful shawl that will be a great knit to accompany your favorite tv or Netflix show.

Size: One-Size.

Gauge: 24 stitches and 28 rows in garter = 10x10 cm.
Needles: 3.25 mm / US 3

Yarn: The sample is worked in Coast, 55% wool, 45% cotton light fingering weight 350m/50g from Holst Garn. www.holstgarn.dk.

The sample uses the colours:
A: Fairy, 150g (1050m)
B: Charcoal, 25g (175m)
C: Ecru, 25g (175m)
D: Plum, 50g (350m)

There are no limits to great looking color combinations.

You can use any other yarn with similar yardage and gauge to give the same result. If you prefer Lilly to be smaller or larger in size, choose a lighter or heavier yarn.

I hope you will enjoy knitting and wearing Lilly.
Thanks Jane Balle.
