In the tradition of Art Nouveau, the lines of this vase were inspired by nature- in particular, the calla lily. The vase is constructed around a weighted glass about 2 to 2-1/2 inches in diameter and 6-8 inches high (I found a number of good candidates at my local thrift shop for about a dollar each). The knitting is basic. The vase is knit in two pieces, felted in the washing machine and the sewn together with a transparent thread and needle.
