For years when my Lily Of The Valley bloomed I would quickly try to design a matching doll, so that I could get photos with them before they died, but every year I failed to answer - how to knit flowers and stems that were so tiny? I had ideas, but never liked how fiddly they were, so I took progress photos for my group and put them back in their box.
This year encouraged by a knitting friend, I got out my doll in mid-winter and tried again, this time I had success! What was the answer? Embroidery!
