Lily of The valley Vest
This pattern is for experienced lace knitters looking for a challenging and satisfying lace garment to knit.
It is a lace vest utilizing an adaptation of a stitch pattern first published in 1983. I have tweaked and modified the stitch pattern to lie flatter and to flow better in repeats, and re-charted it with more modern symbols. The vest pattern is entirely charted in one size, with two lengths, but could be made larger by adjusting gauge using larger needles or heavier yarn, or adding more purl stitches between repeats of the stitch pattern.
Techniques used include: short rows,3 needle bindoff and attaching edging to neckline, slip stitch crochet.
Stitches used include yo, ssk, k2tog, kyok, k7tog, k5tog,k4 tog.
Errata: Note for long version: Cast on should be 251 instead of 235.
For all versions: Even rows should be: (p1k1) 3x, purl to marker, (knit 1, purl to marker)7x, (k1p1)3x.
Chart 2 begins with Row 1, work ribbing, then first 54 sts of vest.
9/1/16: Sleeve addendum is available for those who want to add short sleeves!
