Limniris is a pretty and long wrap, bohemian and stylish thanks to the lovely lace and cute tassels. Based on a rectangular shape knit in two half, it has triangular ends through increases and decreases.
Once the desired length reached, both parts are reunited and knit in the round to obtain the central square.
Made with 1, 2, 5 or 10 contrasting colors, this project is ideal to use leftovers or mini skeins, giving a lovely mix of colors that will brighten up the plain lace.

Material :

• Thread : fingering. At least two colors. 850 meters of main color (lace part) and 250 meters of contrasting colors (without tassels, 50 m each if you use five colors as recommended).

I used 2 skeins of 100% merinos SW (425m/100g) et 5 mini skeins (85m/20g)from Candywool, colors : Plum, Ballerine, Bois flotté, Gold and Ballet Slippers.

• Circular needles 3,75 mm and markers for lace if necessary.

Gauge

2 repeat width x 27 r of lace = 11 cm x 11 cm.

In the case of Limniris, gauge is informative. The most important data is how much meters/grams you use per section. If you use more than 14 g/ 55 meters m per lace section, it is more than possible that you won’t have enough to finish it (as we begin by the ends and finish with the middle). No more thread = no shawl !

• Lace is available as charts or row by row.

• Each technique used in this pattern has a video link. Those videos are in French, but easily understandable just by watching.

• A picture of the shawl blocking with instructions is included + schematic.

Techniques

• lace (yarn over, K2tog/P2tog, SSK/SSP ; SSSK/SSSP; K3tog/P3tog).
• double decrease (center)

• knit back en forth (each end) and in the round (the center)

This pattern has been tested.
Level of difficulty according to test-knitters : 2,7/5 (intermediate).

Limniris est une belle et longue étole, avec un petit coté bohème élégant grâce à sa dentelle et ses mignonnes pampilles. Tricotée sur une base rectangulaire en deux morceaux, elle est travaillée en pointe grâce à un système de diminutions et d’augmentations. Une fois la longueur voulue atteinte, les deux morceaux sont rassemblés et tricotés en rond pour former le losange central. Fais avec 1, 2, 5 ou 10 couleurs contrastantes, ce projet est idéal pour utiliser tout un tas de restes ou d’échevettes, formant un joli mélange de couleurs qui égaiera subtilement la dentelle sur base unie.

Matériel :

• Fil : fingering fil. Deux couleurs minimum. 850 mètres de couleur principale et 250 m de couleur contrastante au total (sans pampilles).

Ici : 2 écheveaux de 100% mérinos SW (425m/100g) et 5 échevettes (85m/20g)de Candywool, coloris Plum, Ballerine, Bois flotté, Gold et Ballet Slippers.

• Aiguilles circulaires 3,75 mm et des marqueurs pour la dentelle.

Échantillon

2 répétitions en largeur x 27 rg de dentelle = 11 cm x 11 cm.

Dans le cas de Limniris, l’échantillon est indicatif, c’est surtout le métrage/grammage utilisé par section qui est important pour être sûr d’avoir assez pour finir le châle (puisqu’on commence par les extrémités et finit par le centre). Une panne de fil et il devient impossible de terminer le châle !

• La dentelle est disponible en rang par rang et en diagrammes.

• Dans ce patron, toutes les techniques utilisées sont accompagnées d’une vidéo tutoriel.

• Une photo du patron en cours de blocage, accompagnée d’instructions, est incluse dans le patron.
