This delicate and drapey semi-circular one-skein shawl begins with a garter tab cast-on, then uses slipped stitches and garter ridges to create a design that echoes the lines on a limpet shell. It would also look lovely in a tonal or single colour yarn, as well as speckled or multicolour yarns.

SIZE: One size – after blocking shawl measures 40“/102cm x 16.5“/42cm

TENSION: 4”/10cm = 21 stitches and 32 rows over stocking stitch on 4mm needles (before blocking)

YARN: 400m/437yds of 4ply/fingering weight yarn.
I used almost an entire 100g (400m/437yd) skein of superwash merino nylon yarn (85/15) from Colliston Yarns in their ‘Mucklebackit’ colourway.

4mm circular needle (of at least 100cm length)
