This pattern was inspired by the mittens and gloves I knit while living on Lincoln Avenue the second year my husband and I were married. These socks feature lots of simple texture and 2 mock cables on the other edges of the foot.

The texture shows up beautifully with many types of yarn, including stripes and speckles. It is also unisex, and would look lovely in a rustic tonal tweed for a more masculine pair of socks. Variegated yarn may lose some of the stitch detail’s visibility, but it won’t take away enjoyment from this mindless knit!
