Lincoln Park is a shawl with slightly unusual construction: it is knit side to side and increases quickly, with a relatively long back portion. This allows the shawl to be worn both traditionally (with a folded collar) or with a shawl pin as a capelet. Either way, it’s easy to wear to a garden party!

SKILLS: lace knitting with lace on the right side and resting rows on the wrong side.

MATERIALS: Approximately 420 yards (384 meters) fingering weight yarn. I used almost the entire skein of Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light. You can easily add more repeats to create a larger shawl.
Size US 8 (5.00 mm) circular or straight needles
Two stitch markers
Optional shawl pin, to wear as capelet
