Line Dancing Cowl
Line Dancing is a top-down, bandana style cowl that creates a turtleneck at the same time as you knit the bandana front. A ridge stitch pattern creates lines across the fabric. It can be knit with one or two colors. Knit until it’s wide enough to fit around your neck comfortably and stretch to fit over your head, then join the turtleneck part in the back with a three needle bind off before binding off the rest of the stitches. Add a picot edge with a crochet hook to finish the edge. (You could substitute a knit picot bind off if you prefer.) Knit this cowl using a size 8 (5 mm) circular knitting needle with 200 yards of worsted weight yarn. If you want to make the striped ridges a different color, you’ll need 130 yards of one color and 70 yards of a second color. Finished size was 18” around the neck (unstretched) x 4” long turtleneck x 14” long at center front.
