Linear Celebration
These socks feature both color work and beading, often in the same places. They are not a hard pattern to work but will require some attention on your part. Not really TV knitting for most folks.
They feature a gusseted Short Row Heel arranged in a stacked style.
Included in the pattern in information about carrying your yarns, how to do the beading, including the Direct and Indirect Methods, and information about how to measure your foot. There are also links to tutorials for some of the techniques used herein.
You will need beads… lots of beads. If you go with the 1 color option, you will need at least 469 beads per sock. If you go with the 2 color option (as shown in pattern images), you will need 157 of color 1 and 312 of color 2. Yes, there are lots of beads but placement keeps them from being to heavy in any 1 portion of the sock, making them almost weightless overall.
I recommend a finer gauge fingering wt yarn in the 430 - 500 yards per 100 gram range, if possible, to help you get the best gauge match. Your RPI gauge is important for how the heel is placed and constructed.
