The Linear Sock pattern features wide panels of knit and narrow grooves of purl that gently curve around the heel. Enjoy crisp lines and graceful shaping in this top-down pattern to keep your feet cosy and warm.

Uses 4 ply / sock weight yarn and comes in four size options.

Gauge: 32 sts x 40 rows in a 10 cm / 4” square of the Linear stitch pattern.
(Linear stitch pattern = K6 (7, 8, 9), p1; rep from to end).

The sample was made using Zealana Cozi 4 ply / sock weight yarn (58% merino, 22% nylon, 15% brushtail possum down, 5% baby alpaca / 50g / 170m / 186 yds per ball) in sugar. 2 (2, 2, 3) balls.

Zealand Cozi yarn is quite heavy for a sock yarn (the gauge on the label is 28 sts per 10cm / 4” in stockinette st, but it feels hardwearing and warm) so if your first swatch is giving you a gauge closer to 36 sts in the Linear stitch pattern, then I’d suggest making a sock size larger than your intended finished size rather than adjusting your needle sizes otherwise your fabric might be too loose. I added an extra size in the grading to give you more flexibility there.

You’ll also need 3 stitch markers, a yarn needle, tape measure and cute little scissors.

To be worn with approx 2-3 cm / 0.75-1.25” of negative ease. Sizes are designed to fit feet ranging from 19-28.5 cm / 7.5-11.25” when measured around the widest part of the foot.
