Table runner, scarf, or stole
If you prefer to make a table runner, scarf, or stole, you can use all
of your yarn for one project. Cast on the same number of stitches as for a placemat for a 12” (30cm) wide piece, or cast on additional
multiples of 6 for a wider piece. Work the rest of the project with
garter stitch borders as for the placemats. For wearables, omit the starch.
