Liner Notes 2
Liner Notes 3! A simple multifunction project (headband? neckwarmer? yes to both) with a straightforward construction designed for vertical stripes and colorblocks. As a project, it’s also a good stashbuster; as a finished piece, it’s functional enough that the sample will probably go into the mitten basket by the door.

As functional cold-weather knitwear goes, the thing you can wear as a close-fitting cowl or as an ear-warmer is kind of ideal. You can pull it up or down depending on where you need it, and negative ease makes everything warmer.

(Be sure to use soft yarn, though. The fitted nature of this accessory makes an-almost-soft-enough-but-kind-of-scratchy yarn somewhat ill-advised.)

Materials:

  • ~380-450 total yards of assorted fancy sock yarn scraps
  • 1 16” circular needle in size US 2-3/2.75-3.0mm, or size needed for gauge
  • 1 spare 16” circular needle in the same size used for main work, or 1-2 sizes smaller
  • Extra yarn for provisional cast-on
  • Crochet hook for provisional cast-on
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:
Gauge, measured in the first part, is 22 sts and 40 rows of blocked stockinette measured over 4”/10cm and worked flat.
Please be sure to check your gauge!

Skills:
Knit, purl, knit in the round, Kitchener stitch toe.
