Lines & Lace combines two-color garter stripes and sections of lace into one giant, squishy, versatile scarf. Wear it wrapped like a cowl, loose like a scarf, or tied into whatever fancy scarf-knot you may know! The repetition and spacing of the garter stripes add a color fade to the scarf to give it an added visual interest. The lace pattern uses a simple two row repeat, making it a great project for first time lace knitters!

The scarf is available in one size that measures roughly 87” (220.98 cm) wide and 10” (25.4 cm) tall while blocking, although it may relax into a slightly smaller size. The length measurement was taken along the top and bottom edges of the scarf, not from point to point. Being knit on the bias, the distance between the diagonal points will be longer.

The sample was knit using three colors of House of A La Mode House DK-
MC: “Oyster”
CC1: “Bunny”
CC2: “Aloe”

Budget friendly yarn alternative suggestions include Knit Picks Swish DK, Knit Picks Capra, and Plymouth Yarn DK Merino Superwash. A tester also tried Lion Brand Truboo (bamboo yarn) and was very happy with the results! Any DK weight yarn can be used for this scarf, but special attention needs to be paid to the yardage in the skeins to ensure you have enough to complete the project.

The sample used approximately 630 yards (576 meters) of DK weight yarn in three different colors-
MC: 225 yards (205.74 meters)
CC1: 220 yards (201.17 meters)
CC2: 185 yards (169.16 meters)
Yarn amounts may vary depending on yarn used and gauge.

Additional materials needed for this pattern include: scissors, tapestry needle, blocking supplies.
