Highlighting the traditional Shetland lace pattern, Crown of Glory, the Linglestown Shawl incorporates garter stitch, stripes and ribbing in this asymmetrical shawl.

The shawl begins with a few stitches and increases along one edge to form the triangle.

The instructions are written. The finished wingspan is approximately 45” and the center length is approximately 21.5”, after blocking.

SKILL LEVEL

YARN
Fingering weight, 180 yds each of Colors A and B. The sample is shown in Liverpool Fingering in Fawn (Color A) and Buttercup (Color B).

NEEDLES
US size 4 (3.5 mm) 32” circular needle.
The shawl is worked flat; the circular needle accommodates the larger number of stitches.

NOTIONS
Blocking pins
Blocking wires (optional but recommended)
Yarn needle

GAUGE
In garter stitch, 22 sts and 34 rows = 4” after blocking.
Exact gauge is not crucial, but be aware that a change in gauge can affect the amount of yarn used and the size of the finished shawl.
