I wanted to design a traditional Swedish sock for Christmas - but also a sock you can use rest of the year without feeling to “Christmassy”. So that’s how Lingon Sock come to live! For me it symbolize my childhood Christmases but also all the times I went to the woods to pick Lingonberries with my grandmother and my mother… So there´s a lot of feelings and memories knitted in to this sock for me!

This sock you can vary - it works just as well without the berries (that you embroider with French knots) or with blueberries or white berries or… Any colored berries!

Photoinstructions how to make the berries are included in this pattern. You also find two sizes; two circumferences, but you can make more sizes if you just knit the foot shorter or longer.

This sock is knitted cuff-down. You need two colors for stranded knitting, and circular needles 2,5 mm and 3 mm. The technique Magic loop is used in this pattern, but if you prefer double pointed needles, that works too.

Jag ville göra en tradiotionellt svensk julsocka som inte är för julig, som du kan använda året om! För mig blev det just lingon, som även betyder mycket på fler sätt, minnen från min barndom när jag plockade bär i skogen med min mormor och min mamma.

Så då kom den här sockan till liv! Det som blev så bra är att du kan variera den lite som du vill - utan bär, med röda bär, blå bär, vita… Ja det finns många olika variationer!

Den finns i två storlekar, främst två olika omkrets där du kan variera längden på foten att passa många storlekar. Den är stickad uppifrån och ner, och mönstret är skrivet utifrån att Magic loop används, men om du hellre stickar med strumpstickor så funkar så klart det med.
