This is a jungle themed baby blanket pattern that is knit all in one piece from the bottom up. Beginning with a garter stitch border, there are 5 sections, separated by garter stitch borders. Each section has written directions, including the section with the chart.

For you to knit this pattern you only need to know how to knit and purl! All sections are made with combinations of knit and purl stitches.

I prefer to use Hobby Lobby “I Love This Yarn” because it is inexpensive and also so easy to wash and dry for young parents. The blankets are so soft and beautiful even after several washings. However, any washable worsted or aran weight yarn will work.

I like to use a size 8 needle for my blankets so that they are airy and light. I use a total of about 350 yards for this blanket using 4 different colors. The specific colors I used for this blanket are listed on my projects page at http://www.ravelry.com/projects/candyloucreations/lionhea...

This jungle themed blanket is fun to knit and suitable for the intermediate knitter or adventurous beginner. Tuck this baby blanket into a basket with some jungle animal books and it will definitely be a hit at your next baby shower!
