Level 2-Advanced (angle stitches)

Looking for a unique and challenging crochet project? This lion and cub mosaic overlay crochet blanket pattern creates a beautiful, one-of-a-kind blanket that is perfect for baby, kids or any lion enthusiast!

This mosaic crochet pattern is an advanced skill level and is recommended for crocheters with experience in mosaic overlay crochet. Detailed instructions, photos, and video tutorials will guide you through each step of the project. With a little bit of patience and practice, you’ll be a pro in no time!

If you are new to angle stitches, I highly recommend trying them first with this free Heart Mug Rug pattern. https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/heart-mug-rug-2 This small 7”x 7” project is a great introduction to my angle notation system and includes my full stitch key.

Written for Mosaic Overlay Crochet, this pattern includes:

  • Charts
  • Written Pattern
  • Detailed Instructions packet
  • Stitch Key
  • Photo tutorials
  • Video tutorials for each type of stitch used in the patterns

Size: 36”x 40”
Size will vary depending on yarn weight and hook.
This calculation was based on weight 3 DK yarn and hook size of 3.75mm. Gauge: 5 stitched and 5 rows=1 inch

Yarn: It is important to keep color A your dark color and color B your light color due to the use of shadows in this design
Color A- 1265 yds (Dark Color)
Color B- 1168 yds (Light Color)
2” Double Border – 590 yds

This pattern is divided into 5 sections and is worked from the bottom up. I would suggest using the Knit Companion app (my personal preference as it is brilliant and saves on printer ink and paper), but I have also included layout instructions for the charts if you prefer to print out your pages. The charts and written patterns are divided into correlating sections so they can easily be used together. I’ve also included the full chart on one page for those who prefer using Knit Companion without all the page breaks.
