Lippo Mitts
Lippo Mitts form a set with Lippo Hat.
The mitts are a perfect accessory for the transformation season, either when winter starts or comes to an end. They are also useful on cold winter days for keeping your wrists and palms warm while you have to do some work. Or knitting. Or texting, computer work, or any other time you need warm hands plus dexterity.
Size: woman’s average – thanks to the ribbing the mitts will easily fit most hands. The mitts measure approx. 6’’ / 15cm unstretched around the palm just above the thumb, and they will comfortably stretch up to 8 - 9’’ / 20 – 23cm around at this point.
Size can also be adjusted by going up or down a needle size, or by changing the yarn weight and adjusting the needles accordingly. The length can be modified by adding or deleting some rounds of the pattern.
Level: Adventurous beginner or intermediate. The mitts are knit in the round. The pattern uses long-tail cast on, knit and purl stitches, eyelets and basic decreases.
Remember that the size of mitts depends on the gauge. If you want the mitts larger, the gauge should be one or two stitches fewer per inch, and if you want the mitts smaller, the gauge should be one or two stitches more per inch.
Yarn suggested: 50 - 70 grams of any worsted weight yarn that meets the gauge, wool if you want the mitts very warm.
