Little Angel Wings Wrap
I was inspired to make my daughter an angel wings wrap, but this also works as a smaller shawl for me and could easily be enlarged; as some of the test knitters did.
It is quite an easy knit: A simple lace pattern that is quick to memorise. The shawl holds a curve because of the blocking- there is no additional shaping to perform. So it is suitable for a confident beginner, or a first lace pattern and a quick project for an experienced knitter. The pattern includes detailed written instructions as well as a choice of chart or written instructions for the pattern.
You could use varying yarn colours for the rows of feathers rather than a graduated yarn, or a solid colour. I used 300 yards of Easyknits.co.uk’s Sushi Sock Roll which is dyed in a graduation from dark to light then dark again. For a lighter affect a laceweight would work well.
The blocked shawl measures 119cm across the top of the ‘wing span’ curve and 38 cm down the centre. suggestions are included for how to create a larger shawl.
