Little April is a Crochet Doll using the Amigurumi technique. If you like tiny dolls that are quick to make, she is the project for you. The PDF file contains a total of 10 pages filled with detailed instructions and photos.
This Pattern is written using standard US terminology.
SKILLS
Basics of Amigurumi, chain, single crochet in the round/in a spiral, single crochet increase, single crochet decrease (invisible decrease recommended), slip stitch, single crochet back loop only, stuffing, assemble and/or join parts together with the crochet hook as you go, hand sewing, fasten off.
*FINISHED SIZE OF THE DOLL*
Approximately 6.5” (17 cm) if you use the recommend material and meet the gauge.
GAUGE is not crucial for this project, unless you want your doll to have the same size as mine, then there is details in the pattern about what to do to meet gauge.
A swatch of 7 rounds in sc, the diameter is 2” (5.08 cm)
Gauge swatch pattern:
Ch 2
Rnd1: sc 6 in a mr
Rnd2: (inc) 6 times 12
Rnd3: (inc, sc in next st) 6 times 18
Rnd4: (inc, sc in next 2 sts) 6 times 24
Rnd5: (inc, sc in next 3 sts) 6 times 30
Rnd6: (inc, sc in next 4 sts) 6 times 36
Rnd7: sc around 42
YARN:
Feel free to crochet this doll with whatever yarn type and weight you wish, but keep in mind the finished toy size may be different, please adjust the hook size as needed.
Yarn 1. For the doll pictured: I used worsted weight (4) 24/7 Cotton mercerized yarn by Lion Brand.
Color 1: Café Au Lait, for the head. You will use approx 0.43 oz (12.5 g), 23 yds (21 m). You will need some of one skein.
Color 2: Pink, for the body. You will use approx 1.2 oz (34 g) / 64 yds (59 m).
Yarn 2. For the wig: I used a small amount of Super Bulky yarn Wool Ease Thick & Quick by Lion Brand.
Color 3: Sequoia. You will use approx 0.44 oz (13 g), 8 yds (7 m). You will need some of one skein.
