This cute little buddy is made with Monaco mercerized cotton thread. I used a size 8 IMIA hook. Finished size is approximately 3” in length, 2.5” in height and 3” width (from wing to wing).

You can also use any type of yarn/material for this project to obtain the size that you want. Just be sure you use a hook size that matches your yarn.
