This little backyard friend is a little bigger than the rest of
the little backyard friends at 10 inches but then again bears are bigger than the rest. I knitted my little bear friend with Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok which is a light worsted weight yarn 123 yards/50 grams and the amounts of yarn and gauge listed in the patterns reflect that. You can knit your bear in any weight yarn, and gauge isn’t very important. If you use thicker yarn you will need more yardage and less yardage for thinner yarn. The main thing is to knit a very dense fabric so that the stuffing doesn’t show through.

Update: I’ve add a big Little Polar Bear Friend variation to this pattern. If you buy Little Bear Friend you get the pattern for the big Little Polar Bear and if you buy big Little Polar Bear Friend you get Little Bear Friend, so if you want to buy them, buy one or the other but not both as they have the same patterns in both.
