This is the second pattern of the shawl book portion of my new eBook subscription (with patterns to be delivered over the course of the subscription)! This subscription has two parts: the shawl booklet and the workbook. This pattern is in the shawl book ONLY. It does not include technique instructions or the small projects and miniature shawls. You can purchase a bundle of the shawl eBook and the workbook for the reduced price of $34.

The single pattern is being released concurrently with the eBook release for the first project only. Hereafter, each single pattern will be available a month after its eBook debut.

Little Bit of Love is a resizable shawl with two versions of the base pattern given. Version 1 is worked in one color of fingering weight yarn, and Version 2 is worked in two colors of worsted weight yarn. Each pattern in this collection features instruc- tions to enlarge the shawl (will use additional yardage), along with yardage and needle suggestions for different weights of yarn. Each also includes at least one “hack” or extra written version to produce a different interpretation of the pattern.

I don’t think I’ve ever knitted a pattern exactly as written, incuding my own. I hope to inspire you all into hacking your patterns too!

Each shawl appearing in the shawl eBook is written to be resizable, and has a corresponding section in the workbook. The workbook itself presents techniques and construction used in each shawl (but does not include the full size shawl instructions), as well as a small practice project and a miniature shawl. Each eBook is available as a stand-alone or you can purchase the two together as a bundle. To be clear: the shawl eBook will have 7 resizable shawl patterns; the workbook will have the techniques used in the shawl eBook plus 14 small patterns (one accessory + a miniature doll-sized shawl that corresponds to each of the large shawls in the sister eBook). Either book can be used without the other.

About my project:
Back in 2010, I began an eBook series: 7 Small Shawls. At the time, I didn’t realize it was a series, but it turned out to be! In 2016, the 5th year of 7 Small Shawls wrapped up, and I wanted to try something different. At first, I thought I might do alternating years of oddments knitting (like my Great Oddments Knitdown book!) and small shawls. But since first designing my small shawls, I’ve begun teaching more, and I’ve learned a LOT from my classes. I hope those who have been in my classes have learned even half of what I did! For that, thank you, my students!

When I first started teaching, I wasn’t sure I would have the patience, but I wanted to meet you all! By now, I am really loving it. The biggest thing I’ve learned? There are soooooo many kinds of knitters. And even if I tried, I could never make you all happy. So that threw me off for awhile as I tried to come up with where I wanted to go from here. But I kept coming back to one thing; the most asked question!

And it is…”how can I resize this shawl!?”

That question kept coming back to me. I do write quite a few resizable shawl patterns, but as I stood there in class going through each one of the patterns in the five years of eBooks, my path became clear. The idea for 7 reSizable Shawls was born! And that means you will be able to resize each pattern in the new 7 reSizable Shawl eBook to your heart’s content! Have twice the yardage? No problem! Want to use another weight of yarn? Sure!

But I also knew I wanted to give people the option for more instruction on the techniques used in my shawls, and maybe a small project to try first. That would make for a pretty lengthy eBook if it were all together, so I decided to split them! Enter the 7 reSizable Shawls Workbook! If you’re completely happy just having the resizable shawls eBook, you can purchase only that. If you like playing with different techniques, the workbook is for you! Each shawl from the main eBook will have a corresponding small pattern in the workbook, along with a miniature shawl to knit up for practice! You could even use the miniature shawls for your doll collection, if you are inclined. The 7 reSizable Shawls eBook and workbook will each be sold separately, or you buy them as a discounted bundle!
