Starting at the neckline with 7 stitches, this Faroese-Shaped Shawl uses shoulder-shaping and has a back center panel. It is a little bit of cables, a little bit of lace, and a lot of stockinette. Both charts and written instructions are included. It ends with an aspen leaf sideways edging. Once the knitter gets started it is an easy knit until the sideways edging which takes a little thought. For intermediate knitters.

CHOOSING YARN This pattern works up well in a variety of yarns from lace weight to dk. Sample shown is wool-silk fingering weight. Fingering shawl as written in is approximately 58” by 27”. Lace weight is approximately 56” by 19”. Shorter and longer possible modifications are included as well as a simpler edging which uses less yarn. Lace weight is about 720 yards, Fingering weight is about 800 yards. Directions to lengthen or shorten are included.
