Little Bonbons is a playful sock that is knitted from the top down, featuring an original cable design reminiscent of a box of sweets. The pattern on the heel transitions into Eye of the Partridge stitch, which continues into the heel turn for extra padding and reinforcement underfoot.

Three size options are given: 64-stitch, 72-stitch, and 80-stitch. The back of the leg is mostly ribbed, but the cables are not very stretchy – you may wish to knit the next size up from your usual. For best results, choose a sproingy yarn that is on the heavier side of fingering weight.

Though of course you may use whatever needles you most favour, Little Bonbons lends itself best to being knitted on two circular needles, and the pattern refers to Needle 1 and Needle 2. Working in this manner not only minimises the occurrence of cables that traverse needle intersections, but also allows the sole to be worked on a smaller needle than the leg and the instep.
