Instructions are given for the cardigan in three sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6-12 months and for the rompers in four 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-9 months and 9-12 months. The rompers are knitted bottom up. The back and front are worked to the top of the leg openings as separate pieces and are joined to knit the body in one piece. The front and back are then worked separately to form the front and back bib sections. Once the side seam is completed, stitches are picked up around the leg openings to work the leg borders. Although the cardigan has minimal shaping, a careful watch on the number of stitches on each row during shaping (decreasing and increasing) must be maintained as it’s easy to make mistakes. Instructions are provided for the bonnet in two sizes, 0-6 months and 6-12 months. This pattern is suitable for an intermediate knitter.
You will need 1 ball of yarn to knit the bonnet, 2-3 balls to knit the rompers (depending on size) and 2-4 balls to knit the cardigan (again depending on size).
