Curl up on the couch or in front of the fireplace and knit up a Little Christmas Stocking in one evening or on a rainy afternoon. The stocking is made from worsted weight yarn and is knit in the round on double pointed needles just like a traditional sock. Needles smaller than recommended for the yarn are recommended to create a sturdy stocking which holds its shape nicely and withstands goody stuffing. The completed stocking measures approximately 9 ½ inches from the tip of the toe to the top of the cuff.

Heavier weight yarn and larger needles also yields nice results, as does finer yarn and smaller needles. This project is a great stash buster! Before you know it, you’ll be whipping up one-of-a-kind stockings in all shapes and sizes. Enjoy!
