A round little plush bird with three difficulty options included in the pattern:
- Two piece sew-together (beginner)
- Two piece no-sew (advanced beginner)
- Seamless, one piece (intermediate)
Pattern also includes a colour change chart to create a European Robin using 5 colours (may be challenging!)
This pattern makes a 2.5-3 inch bird which is good for using up scraps of yarn, giving as a gift or random act of kindness, or as a Christmas decoration.
You’ll need:
- 3.5mm crochet hook
- DK yarn in colour(s) of your choice
- A small amount of scrap yarn in a contrasting colour for the beak and feet
- Toy stuffing (a good way to use up scraps of yarn!)
- Needle, scissors, a few pins, stitch markers
- For the eyes: Black (or contrasting) and white embroidery thread, or
alternatively 4-5mm safety eyes or beads
Pattern uses US terms:
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
pc = popcorn stitch
inc = increase (2 sc in same stitch)
dec = decrease (sc2 together)
shift stitch= at the end of the current round, move stitch marker forward (if right handed) or back (if left handed) one stitch. Count the stitch after the marker as stitch 1 of the new round.
