Little Disco Llamas came about because I began machine knitting and wanted to design a hat that I could make from our alpaca yarn and sell a farm to finished good. Since I love all things neon, tiny blacklight reactive alpacas/llamas only made sense to put on a hat.

I’ve been asked many times for a hand knitting pattern for my machine knitted hats and this is the result. While I didn’t make the sample in alpaca, I’m hoping that in the new year the mill can get me back some yarn to do kits for this hat.

I will be adding more sizes as I have time to test them out!

MC I used 170 yds for a longer slouchier hat and aprox 30 yds for the CC. I’m a very tight colorwork knitter so your mileage may vary.
