Gauge is not critical to the success of this pattern.
Neither is the hook size you use.
I would suggest to use a size hook one size smaller than the yarn calls for, but I like the little flowers tight.
If you rather have a floppy one, by all means go up a size or three.

Any type of yarn will do. I have made these little guys from lace weight and fingering weight. You could try and make them out of cobweb and make a whole bouquet for the ring!

You will also need an adjustable ring base for these little guys! :)
