Gerbera is a sweater knit in low gauge with larger needles. You can use the various weights of yarns; from fingering weight to worsted as long as you have the correct gauge. Lace mohair yarn can be used to make the yoke more expressive. If you use tonal hand-dyed yarns, you will enjoy the different coloring in the stockinette sts of the body and the Gerbera stitch of the yoke.

Gerbera is worked from the bottom up in the round. The body begins with Long-tail CO method, then it is worked in twisted rib followed by Stockinette stitch. German short rows are used to create a high-row hem.
At the bottom of the yoke, sleeves are cast on provisionally, and the yoke is worked in Gerbera stitches after raglan decreases.
After knitting the yoke decrease, knit the ribbing around the neck. Lastly, sleeve stitches are picked up from provisional CO and knit in Stockinette stitch toward the cuff. You can choose “Balloon sleeve” or “Frill sleeve”.
