This toy donkey is knitted flat and seamed. The finished toy is approximately 5 inches (12 cm) tall – the perfect size for a small child’s hands!
The pattern is written as row-by-row description and contains helpful step-by-step photos for important parts.

Required knowledge:
– long-tail cast-on
– knitting flat
– stockinette stitch
– knit, purl, k2tog and kfb
– basic hand sewing skills for assembly
Materials needed:
Yarn: DK (double knitting) yarn (USA - light-worsted/Australia - 8 ply) – 25 g [0.7 oz] gray yarn for the body,
– 5 g [0.35 oz] dark gray yarn for mane,
– black embroidery floss for the eyes
– 2.75 mm [US2] knitting needles
– polyester filling or wool roving as stuffing
– tapestry needle for seaming pieces
– optional: sewing machine with zigzag stitch for the mane (may be substituted by hand stitching, photo tutorial included)
– bodkin for turning small parts (may be substituted with seaming from the outside)
