A simple slouchy wrist warmer with the pattern written to be worked flat or in the round. Great for those wanting to practice knitting in the round before moving on to more complicated projects. For a more fitted wrist warmer simply cast on a few less stitches or for working in a different weight of yarn or making a specific size you can work out with a little bit of maths…

Select the recommended needles for the yarn you want to use. Work a tension square by casting on more than enough stitches to measure 4” (10cm) in width and work sufficient rows to measure 4” (10cm) in length. Press your work very lightly through a damp tea towel and pin to the ironing board. Mark pins in a 4” (10cm) square and count the number of stitches and rows are in the square. The width count is more important as this will tell you how many stitches you need to cast on.

For example, if your piece has 15 stitches in the 4” (10cm) width, to make a piece that needs to be 8” (20cm) around your wrist/hand, you would need to cast on 30 stitches.

As I say, length is not so important as you can simply work until the length is right for you!
