Little Miss Ava
EACH SIZE USES DIFFERENT GAUGE YARN. See below.
Cardigan runs slim, schematic photo attached.
White cardigan is actual neckline you will achieve with pattern. Pink prototype with too large neckline done in ROMNEY RIDGE DK yarn.
The yoke in this cardigan is on the difficult side, requiring ktbl, bobbles, twisted sts, pulling loops through fabric.
This sweet little cardigan is totally feminine and perfect for your girly girl, big or little! It is constructed bottom up and seamless, with minimal finishing and the ¾ length sleeves and eyelet detail make it just the right sweater for springtime. Even though the yoke is very finicky, it’s lots of fun, and done quickly. The gauge is varied with size in order to maintain the same relative size of the flowers.
Pattern in American English
Size: 0-3m (6m, 12m, 18m, 24m, 4yrs, 6yrs)
Chest: 16 (17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25) inches
Gauge: 7.5 (7, 7, 6.5, 6, 5.5, 5) sts/in on larger needles in stockinette. Row gauge not important.
Yarn: Yarn of choice that gets gauge:
For 0-3m, 6m: Fingering weight, approximately 300 yards
For 12m, 18m: Sport weight, approximately 350-400 yards
For 24m, 4y, 6y: DK or worsted weight, approximately 450-650 yds
(For the size 6 pink prototype, I used Willow by Romney Ridge (dk weight), 88% wool/10% mohair/2% angora, 430 yards/4 oz, color: sweetheart, less than 2 skeins)
Needles: Needles to get gauge. Smaller needles should be 2 sizes smaller than larger needles. I used US 4 and US 6 needles for size 6 prototype garment. Use needles you like for knitting back and forth (I used 24 inch circulars) and in the round (I used 8 inch circulars).
Materials: ¾ inch Buttons, 4 stitch holders, tapestry needle, sewing needle
